Vitiligo (2020)

Vitiligo is a skin disorder, characterized by areas of depigmentation, that can affect any region of the body and is manifested by patches of widely varying number, shape and size, at which normal skin coloration is lacking.

The project was born from a need to normalize the vitiligo, working with colors and geometric forms in an unexpected way, in order to enhance the spots instead of hiding them.

These graphs are from an anonymous survey we conducted of a sample of 350 vitiligo sufferers. In the survey we asked them what type they suffered from and what was the trigger at the onset of the disease. We then collected the responses and cross-referenced the data. We were then able to make 4 different graphs (one per type), each presenting 5 different causes with the corresponding number of people suffering from it. The fifth graph, on the other hand, collected the responses of those who are not aware of the type from which they suffer.
